Innovator Max Polyakov Says Space Is for Everybody

Dedicated Research and Education Accelerator Mission, otherwise known as a DREAM project, is a competition put together by Firefly Aerospace, and open to people of all ages who have a passion for space.

Any Idea Is Welcome

Through this initiative, every idea is welcome – from children's drawings to ongoing student projects or startups who have big dreams in space. Most creative projects will have an opportunity of attending the first flight of their Alpha rocket this year. The company says it encourages interest in technology, mathematics, engineering, and science when it comes to the development of the space industry. It aims to adopt the approach of integrating math, technology, engineering, and science into people's education. Successful applicants' names will be announced by June 30.

Max Polyakov Thinks Space Is Inspiring   Max Polyakov says that space is the inspiration source for experience, innovation, and knowledge. He also spoke about science and commerce and how these contributed to the launching of his own rocket. Firefly started operations just five years ago and is on the list of the 20 leading privately-owned aerospace companies. Max Polyakov helped bring in some Ukrainian scientists to work for his company. This helped Firefly achieve a great deal within two years. They sought and were granted permission to use two cosmodromes at California Vandenberg Air Forces Base and the US government's Cape Canaveral. Firefly also partnered up with Airbus, SSTL, and D-Orbit. Also, Max Polyakov was invited by NASA to participate in a new Artemis Moon program. Ukraine has been known as one of the top space countries with great potential in science. Firefly is about to launch its Alpha rocket for the first time, as it works on improving the Israeli Lunar Module "Beresheet" landing technology from the Artemis.   More On Firefly   Tom Markusic, a former NASA Engineer, founded Firefly Space Systems in 2014 after deciding that it was time for him to build rockets of his own. He took two years to come up with Alpha and Beta prototypes, he went bankrupt, without any investors showing up. Max Polyakov was the first investor to help him. Firefly also received an investment of $4.2 billion from Donald Trump for the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS), when the project was in an early stage. With such potential, we are likely to see more impressive achievements from this company and its team.
