How to Add Exchange Account to Gmail App?

If your organization uses an Exchange Server for official business communication you may want to add Exchange account to Gmail app. The process is fairly simple and can be done even if you lack technical details of your host server. Moreover, the in-app steps are largely the same for both Android and iOS. In this way you can not only move your email data but transfer contacts from Exchange to Gmail as well. 

Before you can start with the actual set up ensure that the following pre requisites are complete:

  • Install/update to the latest version of the Gmail mobile app.
    (You can download it for free from the Play store (Android) or App Store(iOS))
  • You have a functioning email id that is accessible via the Webmail portal. 
  • Internet is up and running.
  • Your account credentials, i.e. the email address and its password are with you.
Process to Set Up Exchange in Gmail App

Step 1. Open Gmail app.

Step 2. Tap on the profile icon.

Step 3. Click on Add another account.

Step 4. Choose Exchange and Office 365

Step 5. Add your email address.

Step 6. Add your password.

Step 7. Verify server settings. Change if required and press Next

Step 8.  If every thing is done correctly you should see a “Your account is ready to go!” message. To close it tap Done.

Now your Exchange emails should appear inside the Gmail app.
