Brijmohan Agrawal: The visionary behind State's biggest faestival 'Rajyotsav'

On December 12th, 2003 in the state of Chhattisgarh, former elected government with all the council of ministers took oath in respect with post secrecy and BJP government took over the charge of the government. In the newly constituted council of ministers, senior BJP minister Brijmohan Agrawal was given the charge of home ministry, prison ministry, labour ministry, cultural ministry, tourism ministry and religious affairs ministry.

Brijmohan Agrawal emerged as a powerful leader with a vision and who is always on a mission. He was given the charge of cultural department, tourism department and religious affairs, may be because he had a worth mentioning track record in all these departments in the Patwa Government of undivided Madhya Pradesh. He also holds the record of youngest MLA to be honored in the ministry of Patwa Sarkar. Everyone trusted his leadership. Being hand of development and fine handler of cultural affairs he led Chhattisgarh and took the graph higher & higher in almost every ministry he had in his portfolio.

As the Cabinet Minister of Chhattisgarh & working in different portfolios which include home, tourism, culture, school education, revenue, public works department, he proved his excellence. These are the portfolios which require a leader, who puts people's interest first, keeps in mind what is important for the department of state and above all, ensures that work gets done.

Every year Chhattisgarh celebrates the Rajya Sthapna Diwas on November 1st with great fervor and government organizes a 3 day (Earlier 7 day) celebration popularly known as 'Rajyotsav' across the state. Rajyotasav is the platform that brings the untapped talent to the podium and is popular among the people. It is also one of the most popular festivals that encourage the artisanship of tribal people in the state. And the visionary of this blissful event was none other than Brijmohan Agrawal.

Talking about Rajim Bridge, it is the symbol of world class infrastructure that has come up in Chhattisgarh with the spearheading efforts of the PWD minister Brijmohan Agrawal of the time.

The roads of Chhattisgarh tell chronicles' of impact Agrawal has on the infrastructure development of the state. People visiting Raipur after a long time can easily tell the difference and the level of advancement in before & after infrastructural developments.  Some may also find difficulty in recognizing the places due to the beautification and developmental works. Newer & wider concrete roads can be seen in every district of Chhattisgarh. Bridges have been constructed; by pass roads have been made which ensures the smoother movements of traffic on highways. Sculptures and art works are instilled near the city bridges and the list goes on.
