On December 12th, 2003 in the state of Chhattisgarh, former elected government with all the council of ministers took oath in respect with post secrecy and BJP government took over the charge of the government. In the newly constituted council of ministers, senior BJP minister Brijmohan Agrawal was given the charge of home ministry, prison ministry, labour ministry, cultural ministry, tourism ministry and religious affairs ministry.
Brijmohan Agrawal emerged as a powerful leader with a vision and who is always on a mission. He was given the charge of cultural department, tourism department and religious affairs, may be because he had a worth mentioning track record in all these departments in the Patwa Government of undivided Madhya Pradesh.
